WORLD's Activities:
The World Organization, in collaboration with WHO, PPHD, and key partners, has undertaken a series of impactful activities to improve healthcare delivery and oversight in Nangarhar and Nuristan provinces
🔍 Monitoring & Oversight
High-level monitoring visits were conducted by WHO Representative Dr. Edwin Ceniza Salvador, the PPHD Director, and senior officials from the Kabul main office, including Dr. Najeeb Ullah Aman and Dr. Qasim Noori. A joint monitoring mission by the Health Cluster, IOM, and implementing partners at the Trauma Center in Torkham reinforced accountability and strengthened coordination.
🏥 Service Delivery
Mobile Health Teams (MHTs) and Basic Health Centers (BHCs) continued to provide outpatient services (OPD) in Kot and Rodat districts of Nangarhar, as well as Bajagal BHC in Duab district, Mandesh SHC in Want Wygal district, and Koredr SHC in Wama district of Nuristan. Emergency care was enhanced through oxygen therapy, trauma care services, and the provision of OT, laboratory, radiology, and emergency services.
🎓 Capacity Building
A RMNCH training program was delivered to PHC health facility staff, equipping frontline workers with essential skills to improve maternal, neonatal, and child health outcomes.
📦 Supply & Logistics
Essential medicines were supplied to health facilities, ensuring continuity of care and availability of critical treatments in underserved areas.
🎉 Milestone Events
The inauguration of Mobile Health Teams (MHTs) at PPHD marked a significant step forward in expanding outreach services to vulnerable communities.
